January 16 | 1:30–4:30 PM | Studio 171, Pacific Grove
Come spend an afternoon making something beautiful with your own two hands.
In this beginner-friendly Gemstone Necklace Workshop, you’ll learn the art of bezel setting while creating a one-of-a-kind gemstone pendant to wear home.
You’ll be guided through each step of the process—from shaping your bezel and preparing your stone to carefully setting it into place and finishing your pendant. Along the way, you’ll get a taste of the magic of metalsmithing: working with metal, learning to use the tools, and watching a beautiful piece come together from start to finish.
No previous jewelry-making experience is necessary. This workshop is designed as a stand-alone experience, so you can join us for the afternoon whether you’re completely new to metalsmithing or simply looking for a fun, creative project.
You’ll learn:
The basics of bezel setting
How to shape and prepare a bezel for your stone
How to securely set a gemstone
Basic finishing techniques
How to turn your finished setting into a wearable necklace
Most importantly, you’ll leave with a finished gemstone necklace you made yourself—and the satisfaction of knowing you created it from scratch.
Saturday, January 16 1:30–4:30 PM Studio 171 • Pacific Grove
No experience necessary. Just come ready to create, learn something new, and spend a few hours at the bench.
Classes are limited to 6 students to allow for a hands on intimate learning experience.
